An interview with Janet Leto...

 

 

Tell us about your album "Open Mind?"    

Janet... When I sit down to write a song I first come up with a  melody and rhythm and then images start popping into my head.  The words “Open Mind” kept coming into play until I realized I was writing about a part of myself that I put away a long time ago.

 

Which is your favorite song in this album?

Janet... I think my favorite song on the album is “Crying Game,”  I don’t know why, I guess  it’s because I’m most comfortable with my performance on that particular song  above all the others.

 

Mestey Films Productions has chosen you to be part of "Deception" as an artist. What does it feel to know they wanted you to be part of such production? 

Janet... I feel honored that my song was chosen to be part of this.  As a song writer you dream of having one of your songs in the movies.  It says to me that people can connect  with what I’m saying with my music, which is “life in song.”

 

What does it mean to you to be part of this amazing production? 

Janet... Being a part of this production means a great deal to me.  I get to share my little song with the world through this connection with this great film called “Deception”  and I’m very excited about it. 

 

You’re a recording artist; tell us how you started your career? Janet... Quite by chance.  I always could sing and music is something that just came natural to me since I was a little girl.  It wasn’t until I was in my early 20’s though that I actually, through some coaxing, decided to make a life of it and started making a living singing with bands in clubs and doing shows on the road.  Eventually, I landed in a recording studio and truly found myself as an artist.  I’ve been writing songs and  recording  for a long time now and probably will continue to do so for a long time to come.

 

How will you feel when you hear your song at the end of the movie?   

Janet... I think I might feel butterflies.  Especially if the movie is a big hit, which I think it could be.  I can only imagine the excitement I would feel.  Recognition is beautiful, what can I say! 

 

Finally, what does "Open Mind" mean to you?

Janet... Well, “Open Mind” is kind of a tale of how one feels when you meet someone you  really like for the first time and hope they accept you for who you truly are.

 

Watch out world...here comes "DECEPTION!"
